A Meeting to Raise MS Awareness Will Be Held at Yeditepe University Koşuyolu Hospital 

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a problem that affects 2.5 million people worldwide, most of whom are young and productive. Moreover, since it is a disease of young people, it is of great concern to public health. In order to raise awareness on this issue, a meeting for patients and their relatives will be held on Sunday, July 7, in cooperation with the Turkish Multiple Sclerosis Association and Yeditepe University Hospitals.
Pointing out that there have been significant developments in the diagnosis and treatment of MS, especially in recent years, Yeditepe University Hospitals Neurology Specialist Prof. Dr. Rana KARABUDAK pointed out that the earlier the disease is diagnosed and treatment is started, the more effective results can be obtained. At this point, Prof. Dr. KARABUDAK draws attention to the importance of increasing the awareness level of patients and their relatives. Dr. KARABUDAK said, "In parallel with the increase in awareness among patients and the development of treatment options in this disease, where genetics are effective, MS has become a treatable disease for approximately 60 percent of patients today."

MS Will Be Considered in All Aspects

"MS is a manageable disease and the key at this point is the patient himself/herself," said Prof. Dr. KARABUDAK gave the following information about the topics of the meeting to be held:
"In our meeting, where all aspects of MS will be discussed, all the problems that patients may encounter during the treatment period, from current treatment methods of the disease to stress management, from physiotherapy principles in MS to dealing with legal problems that may develop during the disease process, will be discussed and solution suggestions will be discussed by experts on the subject."
Neurology Specialist Prof. Dr. KARABUDAK added that patients, patient relatives and everyone interested in the subject are invited to this event, which will be held in cooperation with the Turkish MS Association and Yeditepe University Hospitals and will start at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 7.
